Are your programs really free?

Yes! From The Ground Up Foundation is 100% volunteer-led, which means every dollar donated goes directly to programming. All of our services — equine therapy, Mend the Healing Hearts Camp, monthly support groups, and community outreach — are completely free for participants and their families.

What is the Address Confidentiality Program (ACP)?

Florida’s Address Confidentiality Program provides a legal substitute address for survivors of trafficking, stalking, and domestic violence. This protects survivors’ physical locations from being discovered through public records. We help families understand eligibility and navigate the enrollment process.

Who do you serve?

We serve K-12 aged child survivors of human trafficking and vulnerable youth in Florida. Our programs are designed to be age-appropriate and trauma-informed, meeting children where they are in their recovery journey.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes! From The Ground Up Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (determination date: July 5, 2024). All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. You will receive a receipt for your records.

How can I volunteer?

We welcome volunteers for our equine therapy sessions, Healing Hearts Camp, support groups, community events (Backpack Drive, Christmas Wish List), and administrative support. Visit our Partner With Us page or contact us to learn about current volunteer opportunities.

What is equine therapy?

Equine-assisted therapy uses the healing power of horses to help children process trauma, build trust, and develop emotional regulation skills. Working with horses in a guided, therapeutic setting helps children develop confidence, communication skills, and healthy relationships — all in a safe, outdoor environment.

How is the foundation different from Ground Up Ministries?

From The Ground Up Foundation is a separate 501(c)(3) organization that operates as the foundation arm of the ministry. While Ground Up Ministries focuses on faith-based residential recovery for teenage girls, the Foundation provides community-based recovery programs (equine therapy, camps, support groups) and outreach for K-12 child survivors.

How do I report suspected trafficking?

If you suspect human trafficking, contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 888-373-7888 (call) or text 233733 (BEFREE). You can also chat online at humantraffickinghotline.org. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
